2025 Genealogy "LIVE" Journaling: I am still feeling "ugh"...head pain...before I go to sleep let me peak at my roots ... family tree...mom's side:

my second and third great grandpas were NY watchman(men) & NY police officer(s)...my great grandpa was a part of the Hampton's - Great Gatsby era- my mom's mom's side should be fast to do---they do not go back too far...I can go back to my 17th great grandma ROSE EYRE from Suffolk England who died in Washington PA area in 1506.I say area because I have yet to look into documents that got her from England to America and we all know Columbus discovered America ... and others...

Let me look at any military profiles for this post- from my mother's mother's side:

Great Grandpa Edward R___ IIII

We can confirm from military records my great grandpa was born March 6, 1888, not 1898 so let me fix that on Ancestry with fold3 documents-

Edward F R__ IV correction insert

Now here comes why Ancestry came to their conclusions- the records here show another story so now we have to keep looking:

Could be two people to that area with the same name but doubtful because all the data matches to my great grandpa in the documents---which these also match up to my family history--so where does the lies [age discrepancy] lay...from the system or Edward the VI- [or two people with same name and no lies] ??? but I was also told during the Great Gatsby my great grandpa was arrested - he was a Hampton's Caretaker and took the fall for another -so this matches up and was a part of all that phase even how he abandoned my grandma and great grandma and Aunt Blanchie to be a part of the Great Gatsby phase [??]:

yet this says July 15, 1897, which was closest to Ancestry's results:

this matches up: he was a linotype operator...

this matches to where my family lived to the document above:

this is a good document, and it is a match to my lineage---Mandrik [Uncle Charlie and Aunt Blanche and Cousin Charlie and Anna were my favorite folks ever and my great grandma Edith Mae Merrell lived with them after my great grandpa abandoned her and she was a forelady at the Procter's and Gamble Soap Factory] ...Staten Island, NY- Mandrick family are my lineage:

next document I found was: which when I was looking at his area there was a man who matched the data to my great grandpa who later moved to Ohio so we can keep this document here - this matches Ancestry's data on when he died:

let me get his draft card after the Great Gatsby phase: this one says his bday was July 15 1897 vs March 6, 1888 so what altered the bdays over time??? It is the same person because all other data matches to my family.

but then this matches too for Sherwood married his sister- we already did a post on that-

so he got a tattoo after this document above- on his right arm because the form up above states he has one

So seems Ancestry was more correct than the FOLD 3 document because the 1900 census has him at only 2: my 2nd great grandpa was a watchman / watchguard in the 1800's and one of the first to join and was a part of the hangings then in 1900's they made the occupation "police man":

1910's Census: my second great grandpa is still the City Policeman

1920's census:

1930's census matches up

1940's Census does show him in prison for that time in the Hampton's but census on last one said Linotype Operator:

1950 Census- looks like he remarried ---

This is a good enough doc to confirm the SSN that was issued to him shows 7 15 1897 was birth date vs March 6, 1888, so I am changing that.

crud but then I found another SSN with same name and birthdate---sigh:

I did find another EDWARD R___ with different birth and death:

2nd great grandpa Edward R___ III

2nd GG was a Cooper as an occupation-

I feel like I did this already adding these to another post---it is 12:12am 1-28-25 half asleep so "oh well" if it is...think of it like we opened a photo album again...
